Asana is a great communication platform that allows you to track tasks and communicate the progress across multiple projects.  This tool is a great free resource for keeping track of priorities and planning your day.

Agile sprint based task management

Although Trello is billed as a catch all task management platform it is suited particularly well as an agile based software development tool.  It employs a simple to use card-based system that allows you to move tasks from a planning stage through to a done state. This is great for agile sprints.  If agile based project management isn’t your thing then it can be used as a catchall task management system as well.
